“We were looking at bids, we were looking at what all of the catering companies were offering,” said Christie Valenzuela-Ruiz, who manages the YWCA’s senior services.

Built in 1914 as a YWCA, the stately brick building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Community members interested in giving back can donate gift cards directly to the YWCA.

Separately, YWCA’s Angeline’s Day Center, which serves women, is currently holding a boot and coat drive through Dec. 15.

In her teens, she volunteered with nonprofit organizations focused on youth and then found jobs at summer school programs and as a preschool teacher for the YWCA’s homeless youth program.
