The latest figures show that out of 111 eligible claimants in the OCS scheme, 82 claims for full and final settlements have been made with 66 paid out.

It is also one of the areas with the highest benefits claimant rate so is likely to be disproportionately hit by UK Labour government welfare reforms.

Details are still to be ironed out, such as whether it would require claimants to opt-in of the scheme.

In a statement, the council said it did not place any of the claimants in the case at Red House.

It also agreed to pay the claimant's legal fees.
