Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia's final French Open singles appearance ended in the first round as the former world number four lost 6-4 6-4 to American Bernarda Pera.

Events will be held daily through Sept. 27 and vary widely, from a marimba workshop with the band Son Rompe Pera to documentary screenings at the Consulate General of Mexico.

Son Rompe Pera Centered on the hollow tunes of the marimba, Son Rompe Pera brings the rebellious spirit of punk to the Afro-Indigenous beats of cumbia.

Co-presented by Cumbiaton, a Latina-led music collective and party series, the night will also highlight the marimba-rock of Son Rompe Pera and the uplifting sounds of Yeison Landero’s accordion.

While Caña’s small stage may be a who’s-who of musicians and DJs — guests have included everyone from DJs Vikter Duplaix and KCRW’s Anthony Valadez, to Son Rompe Pera and Buyepongo — Subsuelo Sundays is incredibly unpretentious, welcoming and boundary-pushing.
